Below it goes straight in with 12 to 16%. You can warm up very quickly there 😉 . I fear the worst for my knee but no pain. Hope it stays that way. In Oberau, turn right to the Obersalzberg. Here it is flatter, around 6 to 8%, up to the turn-off on the federal road 999 to Rossfeld. Now …

The Rossfeldstraße is a short circular road with some steep climbs. Starting in Unterau, it starts at a 14% gradient. Torture or pleasure? Definitely more enjoyable! The upper section is very quiet (there's a toll for motorized vehicles), and you'll mostly hear birdsong. And the views, alternating in all directions, are simply magnificent.
