Iron Curtain Memorial Nickelsdorf

The memorial is located southeast of Nickelsdorf, on the Nickelsdorf - Kleylehof freight route.
The artist Franz Gyolcs created an impressive, yet reduced sandstone monument, which is surrounded by four benches (also made of sandstone). On these benches there is a commemorative inscription written by Mag. Peter Limbeck. As a cross-border sign, the explanation "FLUCHT & HELP 1989" can be read in German as well as in English, Hungarian, Slovakian and French. A place that invites everyone from Nickelsdorf and those passing by to linger, rest and think.
