After the great descent from Achensee down to Jenbach, now a very relaxed pedaling high to Zell. Due to the low slope, you arrive relaxed in Zell am Ziller. The Zillertal Railway, every year can also drive vintage trains, you have time and you can even let the train drive past you and take a photo. In this year's weather, the tour in the Zillertal was a pleasure.

January 5, 2025,Raffau Kapelle / Buch
We cycled to the Raffau pilgrimage chapel in Buch and lit a candle there. The Buch landmark, founded in 1727, is always worth a visit.

The road conditions today were all-encompassing. From wet, ice, mud, dry and occasionally a strong headwind, we had it all.

Nevertheless, it was a lovely tour and a lot of fun.

A nice little trail.
At the chapel, …

Today out of the valley, to Strass, on to Rotholz, then up into the Öxltal. I wanted to see if the runs down to Schlitters had been reopened. Unfortunately no, the first branch is blocked, the second branch is also blocked. Further up, the third junction, “no prohibition sign”.
So go in and try my luck. Already a long way …

Out of the Zillertal, to Rothholz and then up the Öxltalweg to the Larchkopf. After a short break in the wonderful, sunny spot below the antenna, the path back to the junction further into the Öxltal.
At 1200m the fun was over.
There was still a lot of snow and it was much too warm, no further progress on the …
