Col de Susanfe Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

Col de Susanfe at 2494 m altitude at the transition from the Susanfe valley to the Salanfe valley; correspondingly great views of the wide Susanfe valley in the southwest (where the Cabane de Susanfe is located) with the mountain range of the Dents Blanches to the south and the Salanfe valley with the lake of the same name (Lac de Salanfe) in the east; to the north, the alpine path branches off here up to the Haute Cime as the highest peak of the Dents-du-Midi; to the south rise the mighty peaks of the Tour Salliere. The river Salanfe, which flows down into the lake of the same name, also has its source here. The path through gravel is much steeper (and therefore more difficult) on the east side (Salanfe) than on the west side (Susanfe).

Cabane de Susanfe

Highlight • Mountain Hut

This wildly romantic hut is embedded in a rock basin and lined by the glacier formations of the Ruan at an altitude of 2,100 meters. An ideal stopover for hikers on their way to the Dents Blanches or the Dents du Midi.
