With a length of 6.9 kilometers, the Dardo River rises in the municipality of Piana at an altitude of 1,200 meters, known as the Piazza Moninca stream, below Capu di u Vitullu (1,292 m).
It takes its name from the Dardo stream at its confluence with the Rondinaghia stream. Its course runs east to west until it reaches the Cavallaghiu bridge on the D81 road.
