Costalunga Pass – Karer Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The Karerpass is 1,745 meters above sea level and connects South Tyrol with the Trento region, the center of the Dolomites. The view of the interesting "mountain stumps" from the rose garden is typical up here. If you were a racing cyclist, you would probably appreciate this place more, after all, you would have just finished an almost 30-kilometer climb. As a mountain biker, you'd better keep riding fast: the descent down to Moena is waiting for you!

Lake Carezza

Highlight • Lake

In the heart of the Dolomites, at the foot of the Latemar, lies one of the most enchanting mountain lakes in Alto Adige at an altitude of around 1,500 metres: Lake Carezza. Framed by the gray backdrop of the peaks and the green of the surrounding fir trees, its crystalline waters reflect iridescent hues, ranging from a deep blue to various shades of emerald green. However, being a protected nature reserve, bathing and swimming activities are strictly prohibited.

Reiterjoch

Highlight • Mountain Pass

From Obereggen, the route is also very suitable for road bikes, as it's completely paved. From the Reiterjoch, a variety of mountain bike options open up—be it toward the Lavaze Pass via trails or to the Passo Fuedo.

Large, round, walkable "wooden eye" with a view of the Latemar. It's worth stopping.

Moena Village

Highlight • Settlement

Moena is also called "the fairy of the Dolomites". This charming village of almost 3,000 inhabitants is located on the border between Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa. The town is crossed by a cycle path.

Tour without technical difficulties on cycle path, forest road and a few km of main road

Today we circled the Latemar.
We couldn't do it with our organics.
That's why we rented e-bikes in town - but it was still quite exhausting.
But it was fun!!! 😁

Very nice ride!! Following a variant with a track found here on Komoot for Sassi Rossi di Soraga, you cover 2 km of STrack on a very technical and fairly difficult route. NOT suitable for those who don't want to make effort and have a few thrills... in the end what we are often looking for.
Truly beautiful views route …

Tested my new Ghost Patriot Riot with the Fazua motor for the first time. And what a test it was. I'm so fucked. The bike is great, but the tour was just okay. Extremely strenuous, and the descents on loose scree were no fun. The view, though, was breathtaking. 😀

Varena, Pampeago, Obereggen, Karer See, Moena.

The Latemar Group and the Rosengarten are within reach..🤗
Many meters of altitude but even more wonderful impressions.
Still worth every meter, even if your bottom hurts and your thighs burn.
As always, finish at your trusted inn 🍻
