Książ Castle

An audio-guided tour of this impressive castle takes about an hour and a half and is highly recommended. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to explore the beautiful terraced gardens and linger there for a while. If you like, you can also explore the walk-through area of the underground passages and cellars built during World War II.

If all this has worked up an appetite, stop off at the restaurant of the Hotel Książ. It's located at the front of the castle complex (in the outbuildings), and you can indulge in Polish specialties on the beautiful terrace.

Fürstenstein Castle (Polish: Zamek Książ) is the largest castle in Silesia. It is located on the northern outskirts of the town of Wałbrzych (Waldenburg) in the district of Książ (Fürstenstein) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship of Poland. It is also a popular destination for locals at any time of the day or year.

From this place there is probably the most beautiful view of the Książ Castle. At the bottom of the terrace there is a path to the ruins of the old castle.

The view of the castle from the front is impressive. It's similar with the interior of the castle. I recommend visiting the castle with an audioguide set.

Today we visited Ksiaz Castle near WLbrzych. It is the largest in Silesia.
The castle garden is very beautiful.
The castle tour with audio guide was very interesting.
Finally, we looked at the Palm House. It is about 20 minutes away on foot, but it was worth the walk. Lots of bonsai, cacti and tropical flowers. There are underground passages …

When you realize that it's a holiday in Poland 😁
....then you can forget about parking, so you spontaneously went on a little walk from the Palm House (very cute with a small flower shop) to Książ Castle (the largest castle in Silesia and the third largest castle in Poland). The castle is really huge, a visit is well worth …

Fürstenstein Castle, in all its imposing beauty, was the day-long destination of today's excursion.
Every square meter tells of power, beauty and wealth, but also of decline, obsession, destruction - and reconstruction.
The photos speak for themselves.
The train full of Nazi gold bars, which is said to have been taken into the underground passages shortly before the end of …
