Rhine riverside path

Highlight • Bridge

Nice to ride bike path right on the Rhine, but very busy in sunny weather. If you want a bit more relaxed and sporty you can alternatively drive on the R3a through the vineyards.

Eltville's Old Town

Highlight • Settlement

If you want to get to know the Rheingau, you should visit Eltville rather than Rüdesheim.
We recommend treating yourself to a Riesling at the wine tasting stand (on the Promenade) and gazing at the Rhine, lost in thought.

Towpath on the Rhine

Highlight • Cycleway

The towpath is easy to cycle along, but it is too busy on weekends and public holidays. You should also find out beforehand whether there is currently high water. If so, it will flood quickly.

Beautiful bike path, most of it along the Rhine. The route runs mainly in sunny sections, so in summer it is not for people who are sensitive to the sun. If you can't make it to Rüdesheim, there are several beer gardens and restaurants along the way.

Our tour started in Assmannshausen as part of a short vacation on the beautiful Rhine. Past Bingen (Mouse Tower), Rüdesheim (Drossgasse)
to Eltville.
Great weather, great cuisine - good wine and very nice people..

The average speed is wrong! This was calculated from the entire tour including breaks! Happens sometimes!

Today we did our final tour of the season in the most beautiful sunshine. The bike will be cleaned and inspected tomorrow. After that it will be sent to hibernation😉. From next week, hiking will be the trend in winter instead of cycling. Who rests, rusts is the motto here! Everything has its beautiful sides and the cycling season was …

Unfortunately we didn't get to the Loreley, a construction site blocked our way. 😪 It only went on for experienced cyclists. We drove back. 😥

At the top right, directly on the Rhine, there is only mud. Otherwise, it is a very nice ride.
