The famous Felsengühen (rock glow) at the Altschlossfelsen (Old Castle Rocks) can be admired here in April, about an hour before sunset. Provided the sun is shining from a cloudless sky.

"Rita's World" - Day 2
Recommended by @Rita mit Ronnie 🐕🌳💚, of course - beautiful route with forest, meadow and lots of rocks.
Just a dream for us.
Thank you Rita 🙏😘

Very nice hike. But on May 1st it was crowded with hordes of people. 1 km of rocks in all shapes and colors.

We love premium hiking trails and this detour to Eppenbrunn was absolutely worth it 👍. The highlight of the tour was a 1.5 km long path that leads along red sandstone formations up to 35 m high and then leads downhill through a rock gate.

The Altschlosspfad with its breathtaking rock formations is one of the most impressive and beautiful hiking destinations we have seen north of the Alps. The only downside is that you shouldn't stop at Café Lorrain in Roppeville. They are so anti-German that they didn't serve us.

Wonderful circular hiking trail from Eppenbrunn to the Altschloßfelsen. The rocky landscape is unique in Germany and the highlight in the Palatinate.

A particularly beautiful way. Mannomann am really very impressive from the many different rock formations. Strikingly different and when the sun shines, the stone landscape looks as if it were illuminated.

A hike to one of the most popular sights in the Palatinate - the Altschlossfelsen rocks!

You can find the video of the hike here:

I start in Eppenbrunn and hike over the Hohle Felsen to the longest and probably most famous rock massif in the Palatinate - the Altschlossfelsen rocks.

There is not much to say except that it is incredibly beautiful here. The paths great, the rock formations mega. The tour is easy to do with a normal level of fitness. We went very slowly and comfortably today.....
