May 18, 2025,Platja de Pals: Geochaching, 3 gesucht und 3 gefunden
While the kids find geocaches, I find beautiful flowers, cool graffiti, and little inhabitants in the blossoms.
The bicolored flowers of the purple vetch seem to grow out of nowhere. Ice plant and snapdragon complement each other in the same color.
The graffiti of the Radio Liberty Station features a cool bear and a psychedelic mushroom. The beautiful, large lantana …

A very nice ride with a very sporty, friendly group.
First, along the beach. The path was still a bit flooded from the heavy rain last night.
Back through the town and a bit through the forest.

Today, the focus is more on running than on taking pictures.
Just a quick beetle session: Exosoma lusitanicum, a pretty leaf beetle. Often seen in the flowers here.

A little slower today. Yesterday's short climb was still in my legs.
At Raja's suggestion, I took a small detour. The gravel road was actually shadier than our usual route. A beautiful blue viper's bugloss grows there.
Towards the end, our path also leads past a magnificent star jasmine hedge. The entire road is filled with its fragrance.

In the dunes, a giant ground beetle (Scarites buparius) crossed my path. It's a large, black ground beetle with large mandibles. Unusual to encounter it during the day, as it's usually out and about in its self-dug tunnels.

When the Soft-haired Sundew blooms, it looks very unusual and extravagant, almost alive in a close-up shot.

Last walk by the sea with a view of the Medes Islands 🥲

The mushrooms in the tree trunk have grown in the last two days, changed shape, and have already been nibbled on.

Sometimes you have to stop to help a snail cross the road.

The ants have built an amazingly tall, beautifully round sandcastle.

Moving a little faster today, but still time for a few flower photos.

It's starting to get too warm for the rockroses. The thistles are still doing well, and the blue viper's bugloss has a shady spot anyway.

The hairy purging umbel has developed pretty seed clusters (who comes up with names like that?)

So, I think this is the perfect route for me. The beach is always particularly beautiful, but I need a change. Unfortunately, I can't completely avoid walking along the road sometimes. There are often shadows from walls and hedges. However, my head sometimes sticks out of the shadow.
This path offers both beach and forest, with many different beautiful flowers. …
