Tortosa Municipal Market

Highlight • Structure

Built in land reclaimed from the Ebro, the municipal market of Tortosa mixes several architectural styles. The buttresses are reminiscent of the Catalan Romanesque style, with Gothic touches and a taste of modernism. You can find fresh products and eat tapas there.

This botanical sculpture garden is very old. It belonged to the Monastery of Santa Clara in the 19th century. Since 1970, the garden has been owned by the municipality and has been neglected. In 1989, the philanthropist Selma Jose Prieto suggested creating a Museum of sculptures.
The open-air museum was opened in 1991 by the Spanish heir apparent and was given the name Jardins del Princep or the Garden of the Prince. 24 groups of sculptures are scattered in the garden.
Its purpose was to depict the different phases of human life, to paint a picture of the most sensitive moments and events in life. You have to pay an entrance fee to visit the sculpture garden.

Benifallet Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

This bridge, which forms part of the C-12 highway, is the only one that passes over the Ebro in the 50 kilometers that separate Tortosa and Mora d'Ebre. It measures a total of 234 meters and is enabled for vehicles and pedestrians, as it has walkways on both sides. From here there is a magnificent view of La Mola de Benifallet and the Ebro river as it passes through the Bajo Ebro region.
