Shrine of Saint Anthony

Highlight • Religious Site

The crossroads opens onto beautiful routes: to the left of the shrine of Sant'Antonio begins the climb to Collagù, to the right Via Croda is the start of a cycle-pedestrian path that accompanies the waters of the Soligo and then continues towards Follina.

Great view of the Vineyards

Highlight • Viewpoint

Collagù is a very small village on the Prosecco hills, above Farra di Soligo. From here you can enjoy a splendid view of the vineyards and the Credazzo Towers.

San Gallo Hail Cannon

Highlight • Structure

The hill of San Gallo is comparable to an anti-aircraft gun at every storm: since 2001 there are 5 anti-hail guns present in this area, all managed by the Consortium for the defense of agricultural activities of Treviso (Condifesa TVB).

Their activation is completely automated: a specific system allows to obtain controlled explosions produced inside a combustion chamber, generating shock waves in the direction of the clouds that “seem” to help inhibit the aggregation of ice at high altitude. In fact, there is no scientific evidence of the real effectiveness of these devices. At the height where the ice crystals are formed, the shock wave generated by the cannon is irrelevant, compared to the forces involved.

San Gallo Hermitage

Highlight • Religious Site

The hermitage of San Gallo is a small religious complex, consisting of a small church with an adjoining house for the hermits, located on the top of the homonymous hill, in the municipality of Farra di Soligo. Starting from 1430, when the friar Egidio di Lombardia chose this place as his home, the church was for a long time a refuge for hermit-keepers. The hermitage can be reached either on foot, along the numerous paths surrounded by vineyards and chestnut woods, or along the road that starts near the Parish Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
From the terraced hill on which the hermitage stands, at 363 m above sea level, you can enjoy one of the best views of the Quartier del Piave, the entire Treviso plain and the surrounding hills (for example, Rua di Feletto and Collalto can be distinguished of Susegana, in addition to the long profile of Montello).

On the hill of San Gallo, to the east of the church, stands the Monument of the Aviere: a stylized airplane wing in reinforced concrete surmounted by a bronze statue of the Madonna of Loreto, patroness and protector of aviators. The monument was erected on the initiative of the students of the Quartier del Piave Aeronautical Association on the land donated to the Municipality of Farra di Soligo by the Rigamonti family.

The view from the monument is spectacular at 360 ° and sweeps across the entire valley of the Quartier del Piave, beyond the Montello hill with glimpses, on clear days, to the Venice Lagoon. To the east, north and west the panorama is a natural amphitheater on the Treviso and Belluno Prealps.
