Original grain mill from 1906. The west side is plastered to protect the building against the wind and rain. The mill occasionally turns, but no more grinding is done. That does happen in the mill in Oerle (the Oerse Molenbakker), which has the same owner. In the past, the province provided a subsidy for running the mill, which depended on the number of revolutions. There was a counter in the mechanism for that. Walik is a small, very old hamlet in the North Brabant municipality of Bergeijk and is located a few hundred meters west of the village of Riethoven.
The hamlet dates back to the early Middle Ages. Walik is best known because Maarten Boodewyns or Bouwens was born here, who was later known as bishop Martinus Riethovius, also spelled Rythovius (1511-1583). A bench commemorates this person who was bishop of Ypres in the 16th century.

The core of Walik includes a number of thatched long-gabled farms, two of which date from 1840 and a third is somewhat younger.
