San Telmo Hermitage

Highlight • Religious Site

Historic Catholic chapel perched on a steep clifftop with panoramic sea views. Highly recommended 👍🏻. The San Telmo Chapel (Ermita) stands on a rocky promontory at the eastern end of San Telmo Bay in Puerto de la Cruz on the island of Tenerife.

Fountain of Princess Dácil

Highlight • Monument

The green and fertile Orotava Valley is located in the north of the Canary Island of Tenerife. The term "valley" is misleading, since the Orotava Valley is actually an inclined plain with an area of about 10 × 11 kilometers, the formation of which has nothing in common with a valley.

Church of Saint Augustine

Highlight • Religious Site

This Catholic church was the church of the Monastery of Nuestra Señora de Gracia of the Augustinian Order, which was built on top of the old chapel of San Roque. Work began in 1671 and ended in 1694. On the north side of the church there are four round arches, three of which have been closed up, and one of which still has the original gate which is on the same level as the floor of the church. This consists of three naves. The main chapel deserves a special mention because of the statue of Nuestra Señora de Gracia from the 17th century, of Portuguese origin. In the 19th century, the nunnery was expropriated after which it was used as barracks for the infantry. A cultural center is currently located there.

La Orotava Old Town

Highlight • Settlement

La Orotava is located in the middle of the green Orotava Valley. With the large old town, La Orotava is a popular destination where you can discover a lot. Steep streets lead past imposing mansions in the village. Sights include the Plaza de la Constitucion, the Town Hall of La Orotava, the Church of San Augustín, the Ethnographic Museum and the Gofio Mill. The view of the sea is also worth a short break.
