Well, have you ever seen Neinstedt from above? From here it goes - and Quedlinburg's collegiate church shines in the background.

A no longer used bridge of a railway connection / branch line from Quedlinburg - Bad Suderode to Quarmbeck. When the Russians were still stationed there in GDR times, the supply as well as the arrival and removal of material, e.g. tanks, took place here.

(Many thanks to Herby53 (komoot.de/user/709644855195) for the information.)

Unfortunately, the bridge is smeared from front to back and now only functions as a crossing point for cyclists and hikers: From here, paths go in various directions and if you are in the region, you will pass here sooner or later.

If you can hear the Harz narrow-gauge railway in the distance, you can just go to the next field and see the railway pass in the background.

A very pretty building with an attractive location right on the Bode. A weir system that regulates the supply of water - including in the boot ditch - can also be admired. The interior, on the other hand, doesn't offer much - at least as far as an old waterworks is concerned. On open days (e.g. Open Monument Day) you can taste the fresh (and good) Quedlinburg water and admire many a relic from days gone by.

Teufelsmauer Stieg

Highlight • Bridge

A good bike path leads below the Teufelsmauer along the Bode and offers a great view of the rock formation. A new bridge to the Marienhof offers a convenient connection to the paved cycle path. The Marienhof itself offers a good opportunity to rest - with coffee, baked goods, or even ice cream. A small petting zoo is also on site and open to the public.

On the other side of the rock formation there is a narrow path that is very easy to walk on but is also not difficult as a single track for an MTB.

I would only recommend the way up to the stones on foot because it is quite steep on both sides and the path is partly provided with steps.

I always enjoy the tour to Neinstedt with its view of the Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall). I highly recommend the cafeteria at the Bergblick nursing home; the prices are reasonable, and the service is good.
I wonder if the power pole will survive the next storm.
