July 17, 2021,Mö-Talheim - Jungingen (Albsteig #12,2-13)
You just think how perfectly and easily understandable the Albsteig / HW1 has been signposted so far and then it happens: run! But it gets even worse if, after the relatively prompt correction, it has to be stated that one has been inattentive and overlooked the arrow or interpreted it incorrectly.
This stage is pretty much drowned in the persistent …

The elevation is incorrect. GPS reception was poor at times along the route.

The Albsteig probably doesn't want us 😤. First the 2 heavy rainy days ☔️🌧️
Now the hiking trails are closed 🛑, due to the risk of branches and trees breaking after the thunderstorm on the night of the 24th/25th. August! 😢😫

But we have all booked hotels, we want to go hiking 🥾 and now the weather is ok! 😖

Almost a year ago I hiked the first three stages of the HW1, which stretches over 16 stages and 358 kilometers from Tuttlingen to Donauwörth and follows the course of the Alb. schwaebischealb.de/touren/albsteig-hw1-qualitaetswanderweg-ueber-die-schwaebische-alb-gesamtroute#/article/bdd71072-7fbb-4f31-b7ba-645ecf409429
These first three stages took me from Tuttlingen to Jungingen.
The coming days will now cover the next 4 stages of the Albsteig and take us from …

First of all, a big thank you to the Schanz-Hilbel family for the shuttle back to the Albsteig :-) most of the stage to Jungingen runs through the forest. Normally an advantage, but after the storm on August 24th a hike with climbing 🧗‍♀️🧗‍♂️ and crawling pads🕷, and lots of them! The path to Dreifürstenstein via the Mössingen landslide is …

Day 4 of 8
7:40 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After breakfast, I took the access road from Willmandingen to the Albsteig.

At first, it was a forest road, but later a narrow path that took me up to Riedernberg (852 m), with my first panoramic view of the landscape. 😎

Today's stage was very nice. Once up on the Alb, you stayed up there. It was interesting that you always walked along the edge and on narrow natural paths. A blessing for the feet. It would have been difficult for people afraid of heights.
