Kleinhesseloher Lake

Highlight • Lake

In the southern part of the English Garden is the Kleinhesseloher lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in Munich. At the same time it is also a paradise for ducks, who are not only on the three islands in the water, but also in its immediate vicinity hundreds of people. You are not allowed to swim in Kleinhesseloher See, but its banks invite you for walks. A small boat rental provides rowing and pedal boats and the Seehaus with its beer garden lures in a fantastic location.

Odeon Square

Highlight • Historical Site

Odeonsplatz is a square in the old town of Munich at the southern end of Ludwigstrasse.
It is part of the Odeonsplatz – Ludwigstrasse – Siegestor axis.
The square has been named since 1827 after a concert hall, the Odeon, which Ludwig I had built on the southwest side of the square.

Siegestor (Victory Gate)

Highlight • Monument

„Dedicated to victory, destroyed by war, reminding of peace“. This is the inscription that can be read from Maxstadt. It is worth seeing for this reason alone.

After the damage in the Second World War, the gate was neither completely demolished (because it was out of time) nor was it restored to its previous state and renovated (because it belongs to German history).
Very successful and, of course, an eye-catcher in the middle of the long street axis.

Olympic Lake

Highlight • Lake

Beautiful place in the north of Munich, where the flair of Olympia still lives. Here you see proof that buildings from mammoth events can be very well integrated into urban life.

A great event and well organized. Despite 22,000 participants, big praise for Generalli Munich

Generali Munich Marathon 2022 – half marathon

This was the first time I ran a half marathon as part of an event. My personal premiere 😀

The route leads beautifully through Munich and ends at the Olympic Stadium. It's really an unforgettable feeling when you walk in there.

I completed the half marathon in 2:13:27, OK for the first time.

Today was the half marathon in Munich. My preparation was mixed, so any time that was better than my time last year (2:11:07) was already a success for me.

It rained before the start, but then the rain stopped at the start.

The only thing that was annoying now was the wind.

True to the motto "Make your Garmin proud!" I was able to slightly undercut my planned pace of 5min/km with 4:57 min/km. That was probably due to my fans along the route. Thank you to my 3 loved ones for your support, not only today at the competition but also over the last 17 weeks of training. 😘
