A beautiful stone arch bridge crossing the lakeside inlet. Worth pausing to appreciate the classic architecture framed by the water and Black Forest backdrop.

View of the Schluchsee

Even though the hiking trail goes closer to the water (I think it's nicer), the bike path is also highly recommended. Always beautiful views of the lake, hardly any incline, easy to cycle and mountain bike. I would advise racing cyclists not to ride this path, as it is a reasonably smooth forest or gravel path. At the beginning and end you share the path with hikers, but that's not a problem because the paths are wide enough. You can always go back to the water. If you're away from the tourist rush, there are wonderfully few people around and you almost have the path to yourself. 👍🏼🙃

This section is a little steeper and quite rough compared to the rest of the route. There will be a junction you want to go UPHILL (right, coming from Bärental). Then there comes a short steep climb, you might need to step off the bike for that, after that part it's smooth again.

There is a very beautiful path around the lake that can be easily explored on foot or by bike.

Windgfällweiher

Highlight • Lake

The Windgfällweiher lies in a natural glacier basin and was originally a moorland. At the end of the 19th century, the lake was dammed by a dam and enlarged accordingly. You can walk all the way around the picturesque lake with its tree-lined shore on a comfortable hiking trail.

Very nice round trip. Start and finish at the Bankenhof campsite. At the very end I deviated from the given route and rode back on a slightly different trail, which I discovered is only suitable for trekking and mountain bikes. Was great but challenging with a very steep section in between.

We started from the campsite and drove to the train station in Titisee. From there, we took the Höllentalbahn (Höllental Railway) to Germany's highest railway station, Bärental, at 967 meters above sea level. A crisscrossing section through the forest led us to the Windgfällweiher (Windgfäll Pond). Then we followed the bike path along the B500 to Aha, where the Schluchsee …

I set off cycling without a specific destination.
From Bankenhof to Titisee, then on to Bärental train station. Back and forth to Aha, then past Unterkrummenhof to Seebrugg train station.

Heavy way from Altglashütten to Kapellenkopf, for EBike newbies
