Box Car Park View, Ashdown Forest

Highlight • Viewpoint

One of many Ashdown Forest car parks with cracking views. This one is off of Crowborough Road, often with free roaming sheep or cattle and has views to the north.

Crowborough Road, Ashdown Forest

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is one of my top three favourite roads in the Ashdown Forest. It provides some fantastic views over the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it has some nice lumps and curves for added interest. Sometimes there are sheep roaming the road between the cattle grids, helping to slow the traffic down.

Splaynes Green Village Green

Highlight • Viewpoint

Or a great deal going on here but it’s a lovely village green with duck pond, postbox, red telephone box and a bench, which might be the best but.

Great views from the garden, overlooking Sheffield Park, also known as the Sussex Savannah. The BBQ in the summer is particularly good.

Fletching is a really pleasant old Sussex village with many historical buildings, a couple of good pubs, village stores and a church. If you know where to look from, the village has some impressive views over Sheffield Park (and the Sussex Savannah), arguably some of the finest views in the county!

Piltdown Pond

Highlight • Lake

Always really pretty - and you can expect to see plenty of ducks.

Barcombe Mills Weirs

The upstream tidal limit of the Ouse, where there is a road crossing, several weirs and a nature reserve.

Isfield Station is a restored heritage railway station on the disused Wealden Line and now forms the centrepiece of the Lavender Line heritage railway.
