Fairfax—Bolinas Road

Bolinas-Fairfax Road climbs steeply but without car traffic on a well paved road from Hwy 1 at sea level to about 500 m elevation at the top of the Bolinas Ridge where it intersects with W Ridgecrest Boulevard to the south, continuing to climb to the top of Mount Tamalpais.

Seven Sisters

After climbing the Bolinas-Fairfax road from sea level at Hwy 1 (1,500 feet over four miles, reaching grades of 10% along the way) turn south when topping out at the intersection with Ridgecrest Boulevard: the four miles to the Rock Spring turnoff climb on W Ridgecrest Blvd. These are a set of rollers known as “The Seven Sisters.”

Pantoll Road

Pantoll Road in Mount Tamalpais State Park connects Panoramic Highway at the Pantoll Ranger Station/Campground trailhead ( bahiker.com/northbayhikes/pantoll.html ) with Ridgecrest Boulevard at Rock Springs trailhead. It is a mostly gentle paved road that meanders closely along the contours of the hillside, partly in the shade of trees, with several fabulous viewpoints over the Pacific coastline as well as towards the Marin Headlands and San Francisco
