On our last day of the hiking week there was a small tour around the Schalkenmehrener and Weinfelder Maar.
Always different and always beautiful, and "my" 7 donkeys were there again.
Finally, a visit to "Café Maarblick" before heading back home.

We set off completely untrained in typical April weather (mix of sun and rain showers and gusty wind). The Gemünder Maar would definitely have been too long for the youngest member of the family, who had to be carried for the last 500 m. It's better to take one of the higher circular routes, the view is definitely better.

Hike to Café Schneider in Schalkenmehren at the Schalkenmehrener Maar.
There we drank a delicious cappuccino or latte and then hiked on to and around the Weinfelder Maar.
There are really great hiking trails here. Easy to walk and always with a great view.
