Urft Riverside Trail

Highlight • Trail

An absolutely impressive route. If you just drive to the dam wall, it's absolutely flat. Expect a lot of hikers on the weekend.

Victor-Neels Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The bridge, named after the last Belgian commander, Victor Neels, fits very well into the landscape. At the end you can expect a 16 percent gradient up to Vogelsang.

... jipp ... as Guido already aptly writes ... after the bridge the named after a former Belgian colonel and commander of the garrison bridge ... go with 16 per mill , Boost 700 m and you stand in the castle ... who wants to look at the Solstice Square .. bends just before reaching the castle to the left in a small trail ab..der but has more than 16 percent 😉 ... have fun sweating 😅

Here you cycle along the Urftsee with a view of the former NS-Ordensburg Vogelsang. The place reinvents itself today and sets an example against the Nazi crimes. As an “International Place”, Vogelsang today stands for tolerance, diversity and peaceful coexistence. There are guided tours, events and exhibitions on historical and political education. From Rursee to Gmünd it was another great tour and we ended up in Tom's hut. Wife was thirsty again😎

The cycle paths are very passable.
It goes almost exclusively through forest and past rocks. There is almost always a view of the Urftsee.
There are also always nice places where benches (sometimes with tables) can be found. Just perfect for a leisurely break.
There are sufficient signs for various routes everywhere.
Just a dream tour.

The cycling event Nideggen macht FIT starts on May 25, 2025. Anyone who enjoys cycling can participate. It's sure to be a great time, and I'm totally motivated to join in. Today's ride was nice and flat to get us in the mood, always along the Obersee and the Urft River. Simply wonderful. The route is still being developed, and …
