It really wasn't as hot as forecast, and I like the heat, but I must admit today it sapped at my strength, what bit I have. The opposite effect of solar energy. And all that new road coating basically sucks a bit for us cyclists, with ripples, lumps and crap.

About 17 days out of the saddle demands some suffering payback for my absence. I felt weak throughout, but managed to finish familiar loop
I met a lazy rattler enjoying the tarmac on the Sawyer trail. And took my clementine break in the shade at the Village Hub in Woodside, my favorite place to catch my breath on this circuit.
You know how you work hard and your conditioning goes up, only to take off travelling somewhere for a while and feel your conditioning drop, then you start over again? That. First ride back after being gone for a month. Ouf.
Go-to flat-ish pace ride on the peninsula. Always friendly.
