Beau Rivage Riverside Path

Highlight • Trail

Very nice to drive single trail between Oudon and Les Thibaudières. The EV6 actually leads from Oudon to the other side of the Loire, but this route is the nicer one. Also easy to ride with bicycles with luggage.

Oudon Keep

A pretty site that is worth the detour for the dungeon and its surroundings (canal, sculptures)

The Loire at Oudon

Highlight • River

I always ride south Loire in the morning because the bike path is not shaded. City of Oudon very nice. I often do this circuit always with a picnic break at the port of oudon.

The Champtoceaux bridge crosses the Loire at Oudon. The view over the Loire is superb because the river is here punctuated by numerous sandbanks.

Port of La Pierre-Percée

Nice little marina on the Loire à Vélo route. Many picnic tables and games for children nearby, in the park of the same name.

December 16, 2023,Nantes - Oudon - Champtoceaux
Not very hot, but at least beautiful sunshine.
The Loire, which borders the path, really impresses.
In many places it was more the Loire à Naage than the Loire à Vélo. And yet, I passed at low tide!

Sunshine and blue skies this morning (finally!), but a strong, freezing east wind.

Last outing of the year, with oh miracle, sun on the last third of the route.
I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy New Year's Eve and an excellent year 2025, if possible with a little less rain and mud for us other cyclists and hikers from the Atlantic-Loire region.

The classic Loire à Vélo loop between Nantes and Champtoceaux.
Nothing to report. Dry and relatively clean roads. Pleasant weather, windy but sunny.

Nothing to report. Sunny but a terrible westerly wind.
I've seen a lot of cyclists doing the Loire à Vélo. I've never seen so many as this year. Cultural, gastronomic, and sports tourism seems to be booming.
Otherwise, the city has begun work on the footbridge that will connect the eastern end of Pinette Island to the mouth of the …

Quiet walk enjoying a lull. It's not easy to cycle at the moment. And even when it doesn't rain the ground remains extremely wet and slippery.

The work between Mauves and Oudon is almost finished. Normally Friday. They put some kind of cement everywhere, covered with sand. Of course it will be smoother and less often flooded (a priori), but …

A quiet little outing, under a beautiful sun (finally!)
A lot of puddles and dead leaves, but I expected worse after yesterday.

The classic loop, to test my new tape. No more constant creaking in the rear and 2 km / h more than usual :-)
