Our first stage of the Alta Via (AV5T) of the Cinque Terre begins in the center of Levanto. We walk along the seafront and climb to the medieval castle, where a long staircase overlooking the sea begins.

We quickly gain altitude. The views are wonderful, the horizon infinite.
