The Alabaster Coast (“Côte d'Albâtre”) stretches for 120 km from Le Havre at the mouth of the Seine in a northeasterly direction to the border with Picardy. It owes its name to the steep, up to 120 m high, alabaster-colored chalk cliffs that drop steeply into the English Channel.12
