Bridge over the Adige River

The Etsch is the longest and richest river in Tyrol. In the past there were even rafts and small ships on the Adige. In the Bolzano Unterland there have been many floods, which is why there is a high dam on both sides of the bank. The Etsch rises on the Reschenpass, flows through the Vinschgau and past the town of Glurns, through the Burgraviato and Merano and then on to Bozen and Laives, through the lowlands and leaves Tyrol at the Salurner Klause. It flows further into the Po Valley and flows into the Adriatic Sea. Soon after the source, the Etsch flows through two lakes, the Reschensee and the Haidersee. The Etsch is 415 km long, the second longest river in Italy after the Po; Source on the Reschenscheideck in the Ötztal Alps (at 1,525m); at Porto Fossone the river flows into the Adriatic; fourth largest river in Italy in terms of water volume (after Po, Ticino and Tiber)

A battered eagle was found on the right of the Adige.
Nice quiet ride with dirt road and countryside. Little elevation gain and minimal battery usage.
