Heimgarten and Herzogstand are not really an insider tip - if you climb up and down the north flank, you are still alone for most of the tour. The starting point is a small free car park near Raut. More than 10 years ago I walked the ridge path from Herzogstand to Heimgarten high above Walchensee and Kochel See in the fog - so a second edition was waiting in better weather - like today👍🏻.
And this time I didn't choose the descent to Walchensee, but the one with about 1300 meters down to Schlehdorf.
