Highlight • Monument

Visually really impressive. A good place to take a break for family trips. There is a playground right next to the bike.

Wölfersheimer See

Highlight • Lake

Lake Wölfersheim was formed by lignite mining in the Wetterau region and is the largest lake in the region.

It lies at the center of the two cycling routes (north and south) of the Wetterau Lake District. Further information:

Wetterau Lake District

Highlight • Lake

The Wetterauer Seeplatte is a varied, family-friendly tour along its entire length, which runs almost entirely on solid farm roads without constant car traffic😊.

My round trip begins and ends in Ettingshausen. After Münster via Hessenbrückenhammer, Wetterfeld on the railway line to Hungen. Continue along the railway to Inheiden, via the Horloff-Bieberweg to Utphe. The B489 crosses the Sachsensee to Obbornhofen; after a slight increase - 1000 meters - you can already see the Münzenburg. We continue along the Wetter long via Trais- Münzenberg to Muschenheim, Arnsburg Monastery to Lich. The weather continues to Niederbessingen Ettingshausen! medium 56 KM very good with e-bike

The Inheidener See, also called Trais-Horloffer See, is a relic of former lignite mining in the Wetterau and has been a popular bathing lake for decades, also frequently used as a summer residence by many campers and weekend house owners from the greater Frankfurt area.

Trais-Horloffer Lake

Highlight • Lake

Due to the large car park, the snack bar and the restaurant, there is always a high number of visitors on the Inheiden side of the lake, which is why the Trais Horloffer side is a bit of an "insider tip"😂😂

Wetterau Lakes Cycle Route

Highlight • Cycleway

All paths on the Wetterauer Seenplatte circuit are so-called agricultural farm roads, i.e. a surface that is absolutely suitable for cycling and almost car-free, which makes the bike tour family-friendly and safe for children too....🤗👍👍

Today I did a lake tour. I started in Dorn-Assenheim and the nearby lake. Then I continued along the Wölfersheimer Lake to the turning point at the lake in Inheiden.

It was a beautiful tour with pleasant temperatures and a little wind, so ideal conditions.
