Pleidelsheim Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

The Old Town Hall was built in 1613/14 and served as the municipality's administrative headquarters until 1971. The ground floor with its open arched arcades was originally a market hall. The offices were located on the first floor. In 1840 the town hall was rebuilt.

Mauritiuskirche Pleidelsheim

Highlight • Religious Site

Like many other village churches, the Pleidelsheim Mauritiuskirche also has elements of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. Much has been changed and added over time.

The late Gothic nave of the hall church, west of the medieval choir tower of a former fortified church of Romanesque origin, with a sacristy on the north side, was built in 1586 according to a design by Georg Beer. The top floor of the choir tower contains the tower clock and the belfry.

The interior of the nave is spanned by a flat ceiling, that of the choir, i.e. the ground floor of the choir tower, by a ribbed vault. The organ was built in 1740 by Johann Adam Schmahl.
