Hollins Cross is a col where paths from Edale and Castleton meet. There are loads of great trails around here, especially via the Great Ridge to Mam Tor. It can get very busy at popular times/when the weather is great, so choose your moment.

The steep stone staircase of Jacob’s Ladder brings you to the summit of Kinder Low. This iconic section of the Pennine Way is a delight to hike and rewards you with magnificent views.

Scenic spot before the last stretch back to Edale. Nice place for a paddle also!

Climb to Hollins Cross

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Very runnable climb to Hollins Cross (especially fun with a tail wind!) - Do keep your eyes peeled for MTB riders, but there's plenty of space for everyone. Beautiful views towards Edale on the way up and of Castleton and Hope Cement Works once you reach the top!

The path through the top edge of Brocker Booth plantation follows the 375m contour, if you don't want to include the extra 100m to climb Lose Hill, this is the path to follow.

Lose Hill Lower Path

Highlight • Trail

The style to the footpath going up the hill is unable but it is just rocks and a barbed wire fence. Rocks were a little loose so if you are not sure footed it might not be the best route. However I got over it fine
