Cellar of the amphitheater

Highlight • Historical Site

Several panels with 3D visualizations show the amphitheater as a reconstruction! With interesting explanations!
In the basement you can empathize with the gladiators ... tapes, puddles of water, beams, dark ... but you walk cleanly over a wooden walkway :-)

The Imperial Baths are the monumental remains of a large-scale planned late Roman bath complex and later cavalry barracks, which have been preserved in the center of the Rhineland-Palatinate city of Trier. The structure, with its walls still standing up to 19 meters high in parts, is one of the largest Roman baths north of the Alps and has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage site in Trier since 1986. As a cultural monument, the structure has been under monument protection since 1989 and is considered a cultural asset under the Hague Convention. Despite their intended size, the never-completed Imperial Baths would not have been the largest bathing structures in Trier, as they were surpassed by the much older Baths of Barbara. Today, the area of the baths is designated as an archaeological park. Other baths in Trier included the Baths at the Viehmarkt.
