September 10, 2022,10.09.2022 - Werratal-Radweg - Großburschla nach Witzenhausen
The weather reports predicted continuous rain from 10:00 today. Except for an hour, in which we took our rain gear for a walk, the cycling weather was great during our ride.
We always had to deal with gentle but long climbs. We could not explain why the Werra is very well filled with water in some sections, but at least …

Lush green wherever you look. In between half-timbered towns and villages.
It's just a pleasure to drive along the Weser and Werra. And the fact that the sky has thrown fresh water around our ears is somehow part of the green.

Just yesterday I cycled a similar route along the Werra Valley cycle path and today I'm on a similar route again. This time, however, with different (sibling) company and with a different start and finish/turnaround point.

We started at the Oase campsite in Wahlhausen (just behind Bad Sooden Allendorf), which is already in Thuringian (Free State 😂) territory and thus …

Today it was very relaxed, partly along the Green Belt from Wendeshausen to Wendershausen. Along the route there are very pretty old little towns with great half-timbered buildings lined up like pearls on a string, which call for another intensive visit. The paths along the Werra in this section are also really a feast for the eyes and very easy …

🚴 10.6.2023
The 4th and last day of our Werratal bike tour began at our guesthouse in Großburschla (Thuringia).
We continued to Wanfried, Eschwege, Bad Soden - Allendorf, Witzenhausen, to our destination Hann. Münden to the Weserstein.
Here the two rivers, Werra and Fulda, unite and both rivers continue to flow as the Weser into the North Sea.
From the …

Arrived at Weserstein, a very nice trip along the Werra. For me a very nice cycle path with many scenic facets. I can only recommend it. 🎉🚴🚵🏕️. Also the very beautiful towns with their half-timbered houses and other architectural styles. Every house is an eye-catcher. Tomorrow I'm going to look at the historic old town of Hann. Münden.

🖐️ Our absolute favorite route on an excellent cycle path. Today there was no sun, but otherwise pleasant and great cycling weather. Unlike the scorching heat 🥵 yesterday. Unfortunately I had to edit the route because my Garmin Swim 2 stopped for about 10km. The actual ride time according to the bike computer was 4h26min. 😎🖐️🚴
