We set off from Piacenza, and after a brief visit and a stamp 💮 at the Cathedral 🕍, we head out along the ancient Via Emilia. Not long after, we reach Pontenure, a quiet little town that marks the gateway to the Piacenza countryside. The road leads us through wide, open fields, until the silhouette of the Castello di Paderna …
...which was a bit tedious with a sometimes erratic Garmin (how can a navigation device have such bad user guidance) and very Italian bike paths here (painted green, 200 m long, ending in a meadow). Decaying goods, lots of agriculture, suddenly lots of grain. In Fiorentina, the e-bike Americans, whom I have already met twice, meet after me.
