Nymphaeum of the Villa of the Quintili

The monumental nymphaeum (sacred building dedicated to a nymph, generally placed near a fountain or a source of water) overlooking the Via Appia Antica was the real entrance to the villa of the Quintili: from here, in fact, through a door that stood between two columns gave access to the park. The changes undergone by the nymphaeum in medieval times transformed it into a small castle owned by the counts of Tusculum, who between the ninth and eleventh centuries were the lords of Lazio, and have completely changed its original appearance. From movable floors take via della malora I made a ring to see a very nice single track from the track if you want to avoid it and easy go immediately towards via dei Principi instead of going up to the right for the damnibal fields
