Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

This bike path leads through so many beautiful corners that you won't be able to make any progress because of your amazement. High above, the rugged ridges of the Dolomites rise, while the valley is dominated by lush green meadows and slowly babbling brooks and rivers. Caution: addictive.

Sexten (Sesto)

Highlight • Settlement

Sexten (Italian: Sesto) is a mountain village in the Alta Pusteria Valley, known as the gateway to the Three Peaks and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Its name derives from the sixth milestone of an ancient Roman road. The village lies at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters and is famous for the Sexten sundial, a striking mountain formation where the position of the sun can be read from the peaks.

Furthermore, this village is a popular destination for mountaineers, hikers, and climbers in the summer, as well as for skiers and winter sports enthusiasts in the Three Peaks Dolomites area in the winter. In addition to its unique natural surroundings, the village boasts vibrant traditions, Ladin-Tyrolean culture, and warm hospitality.

Today we took the train from Olang to Innichen. From there we went up the Sextertal towards the Three Peaks National Park. Impressive mountain ranges and a fantastic landscape.

Today is supposed to be the best day of the week. So I got the trailer ready and headed to Lake Braies. If I can't take the panorama in my shower, then at least I want to go there in real life😅😎
The cycle path network gets an A+ from me👍
