Schlachtensee

Highlight • Lake

Schlachtensee is a little piece of vacation at home. A very beautiful bathing lake with large lawns and top water quality. At the eastern end of the lake there is a small children's playground and a nice café. The fisherman's hut at Schlachtensee offers a wonderful view of the lake. In the beer garden you can enjoy the sun every day from 9 a.m. and fortify yourself with traditional dishes such as herring and white sausage.

Ostara Sculpture at Fischerhütte

The sculpture in front of the fisherman's hut was created by Jean Y. Klein in 2017. It depicts the supposed Germanic spring goddess Ostara. The name and deity are disputed among scholars, however. But it's a beautiful myth nonetheless. Her sacred animal is said to be the hare, which she is seen gripping firmly by the ears.
