The Wolletzsee is about five kilometers long, one kilometer wide and the catfish flows through it. Cormorants have a sleeping colony on the trees on the bank - you can see them easily with binoculars. You may also see gray herons or kingfishers and the tracks of the beavers that live here. There is a 17-kilometer hiking trail around the lake. Beautiful and highly recommended.

Since the hiking trail runs above the bank, you always have a good view of the glittering water surface. Many bathing areas invite you to swim. We were able to observe numerous animals.

Peetzigsee

Highlight • Lake

The rest hut marks a spot where you can easily access Peetzigsee, right at its southern tip. - Warning: Anyone who wants to continue from here, to circumnavigate the lake clockwise, must be prepared for a very narrow, terribly overgrown, and poorly maintained path, and for an unreasonably long stretch! - It's absolutely not suitable for cyclists, and not exactly ideal for hikers either! You can push your bike sometimes, but even that's very difficult here.

From the NABU information center Blumberger mill you can pass outside to the fish ponds. These are considered a water bird sanctuary. The paths between the ponds must not be entered. There is a designated road which may be used and via which one arrives at Görlsdorf.

Blumberger Mill Fish Ponds

Highlight • Lake

In the 13th century a mill was operated here by monks. Even then they were breeding carp as a fasting food. The name was given to the miller Blumberg in 1707. A cutting and water grinding mill existed here until the end of the 19th century. This was followed by the production of carp and tench. The pond area acquired its current shape at the end of the 1960s. Until 1989, the Blumberger Teiche area was not open to the public. This tranquility is one reason for the diversity of animal and plant species.
The Blumberger Mühle pond area has the status of a water bird protection and nature reserve.
The Welse, a left tributary of the Oder, flows through the area.
