Bursfelde Abbey

Highlight • Religious Site

Anyone cycling along the Weser River shouldn't simply pass by the monastery. Take a few minutes to stop. Just about 75 meters from the bike path, you'll find a peaceful spot. There's plenty of bike parking, as well as a restroom. About 100 meters further on, the Bursfelde Monastery Mill is highly recommended for refreshments. They also offer ample bike parking.

Very beautiful old spa town, many buildings around the inner harbor have been renovated. On the Weser side there are a few bars with a beer garden and a beautiful view of the Weser and the surrounding area.

Super nice bike tour on the Weser. Great paths, beautiful landscape, nice places to stop for refreshments. We recommend. The last part down the Weser on the left side is a cycle path on the road. Otherwise great 🔝 way ☺️

Today we cycled towards Hann. Münden. As Jörg Rausch described, the north side of the river is, mmm, pure nature. The south side of the river is more scenic, and the road surface is better. There's a 25% gradient along the way. It's a challenge even with an e-bike. After Veckerhagen, I was careless for a moment and fell. My …

The five of us went on a day trip today! The weather report reported heavy rain for today (storm) but it was probably nothing, not a drop of water fell from the sky! So we had plenty of time for breaks! 😉😉

A beautiful summer tour along the Weser River to the border triangle of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, and Hesse, north of the baroque town of Bad Karlshafen. Then, back along the right bank of the Weser, stopping at the Klostermühle (monastery mill) in Bursfelde.

That was a nice stage. For the first time with full luggage. Saw one or two delicacies along the way, also because of the geocaching hobby.
