The Deutsche Weintor marks the beginning of the German Wine Route. It was built in the Third Reich to make the wine-growing region better known. Even today, an imperial eagle can be seen on the structure. The swastika that the eagle held in its claws was removed after the end of the Second World War.

A very nice tour. Weißenburg is a lovely town, the Lautertal valley is stunning, and the rest of the trails were also enjoyable to ride.
