Cotinière Beach

Highlight • Beach

La Cotinière beach is a little corner of paradise. Its seafront, where you can stroll peacefully, even allows access to the port for a fun resupply.

Great little port, best explored, like the rest of the Oléron island, during the off season.

Here you can observe local sea salt production. There's a small hiking trail between the sea salt fields and a shop where you can sample and purchase fresh sea salt.

October 5, 2024,🚲Tour im SO der Ile d'Oléron 🇫🇷
We cycled through the coastal forest in the south of the island to la Cotinière to have coffee and watch the people. Then we took narrow cycle paths to the other side of the island to Château d'Oléron, a Vauban fortification. The colourful artisans' quarter in this little town is also well worth seeing.

Showing Translation

Not a good tour, partly sand that is too deep to drive, otherwise quite OK but nothing special
