Casermette Hut on Mount Penna

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Casermette del Monte Penna refuge is located in the Aveto Regional Natural Park, about an hour away from the sea, from the motorway exits (Lavagna and Borgo Val di Taro) and from Chiavari station. Originally a logistics base for the State Forestry Corps in the 1920s, it is now known as "Rifugio Penna".
It is located in a picturesque mountainous area between Mount Penna (1,735 meters above sea level) and Mount Pennino, surrounded by a beautiful fir and beech forest.
It offers accommodation, activities such as hiking and rock climbing, and is equipped for E-MTB adventures.

Incisa Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Crossing point of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and starting point for excursions to the Penna and Aiona mountains.
The history of this place seems to be linked to the Latin term "incido," which means "cut." It is said that the Romans, tired of the resistance of the Ligurian tribes, decided to cut down the Apennine forests to weaken them. The Ligurians were masters of guerrilla warfare, while the Romans preferred the open field, and the removal of trees would have facilitated their strategy.

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Faggio dei Tre Comuni Refuge is located in the locality of the same name in the Municipality of Bedonia, in the province of Parma. It is located about 1,400 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Trevine, a few meters from the border between Emilia Romagna and Liguria.

Commissioned to the Lucio Serpagli architecture studio in Parma by the Valli del Taro and Ceno Mountain Community, it was built between 2003 and 2006 as a multifunctional building. A recovering project implemented through the use of local stones.

Subsequently granted in management to the CAI of Parma, it was inaugurated for the first time in 2011.

The forest of Monte Penna, on the road to Passo del Chiodo, is one of the most magical places in the Apennines: you can only hear the asphalt running under the wheels.
