Here you can watch the storks rearing their offspring. They look for their food on the meadows and banks and bring it to the young animals - nice to look at.

From this beautiful observation tower you have a great view of the Woeste nature reserve. The surrounding fen with the shallow water zone is an important habitat for rare animal species.

The Woeste is a lowland moor where peat was once mined, which was used for healing purposes in Bad Sassendorf. Moor lakes remained, which are now populated by countless waterfowl. Water buffalo were also employed here as environmentally friendly lawnmowers...

We discovered this bog area through Komoot. This is the Lippeweg/Woerste circular hike of 5 km. It goes along the water buffalos and with luck they will " accompany " you .
We loved it. The route is easy to walk, all paved roads...unless you want more along the fields. Tip: don't forget your binoculars and bring time to relax. …

At the end of our wellness days we went to the water buffalo 🦬. We liked the Woeste. There were many waterfowl 🦆🦢🦤 to see 👀 and to hear 👂. Unfortunately, it wasn't that good for mobile. The stork has started building its nest. Part of the tour was pretty boring 😐.

After a long time, we headed back to the Woeste, the observation tower, and maybe some water buffalo. 🐃🐃🐃🐃

🅿️ We parked at the Landhof and from there followed the signs to the Woeste 👣

Today I hiked around the NSG Wöste near Bad Sassendorf - Ostinghausen.
We started from the church in Ostinghausen to the Wöste and continued on the Woeste-Lippweg, a 5 km long circular route that leads back to the starting point.
I was able to observe various waterfowl, pheasants, birds of prey, deer, nutria and water buffalo that were introduced a …

From 🅿️ ...to Woesteweg.

The camera is ready in case we can see the buffalo and we were lucky.

The route is very well signposted. Pure nature with several viewpoints. 🥰

A joker put up special signposts so that you can also find the old castle. 😅
