On January 18, 2007, the mill's casing, including the sail cross, was blown off the stand by the heavy storm Kyrill. Only the brick base and the stand remained standing. Investigation revealed that the storm pins of the stand, which was renovated in 1990, were completely affected by mold. The municipality, which owns it, has sufficiently insured the mill and had it rebuilt. The rebuilding took a year and a half, considerably longer than planned. Zeldenrust was festively put into operation on Saturday, August 9, 2008.

This church was dedicated to St. John's Decapitation and built in Gothic style. The church was owned by the Reformed Church from 1635 to 1840. The tower was municipal property. Both were demolished between 1857 and 1859. One of the reasons for demolition was the neglected state in which the Catholics got the church back. The fact that the area was regularly flooded also contributed to the decision to demolish the old church. A new church was built on higher grounds and opened in 1859.
This church was destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt in 1950. The contours of the oldest Gothic 'polder church' have been made visible in the landscape.
