Contrary to the nearby Chimney Beach being overcrowded, Lake Marlette provides a serene escape from society for a relaxing swim. The hike is very enjoyable with the elevation gain being spread out. The area is well-trafficked and shared by dogs, bikers, and sometimes horses.

The café is operated by Flume Trail Bikes, a bike rental company located just behind the café.
