Château du Loewenstein

Highlight • Historical Site

Löwenstein Castle (also called Lindenschmitt and Löwenburg) was first mentioned in the 13th century. The castle was destroyed in 1386 due to robber barons and was probably not rebuilt.

A very beautiful ruin with a wonderful view from both platforms.

September 25, 2021,Lembach - Zwei Burgen und ein traumhaftes Panorama
Very nice hike with great views. Be sure to climb the castles. That is rewarded with an incredibly beautiful panoramic view.
The rock path has a very steep and impassable descent at the end.
Sturdy shoes are essential.

A fantastic tour with many highlights along the fabulous rocky path. One or two of the ladders wobbled a lot, and at the top, you were almost blown away. The rain made it very slippery, and concentration was required. But it was fun; I'll be back when the weather's nicer.

Today ruby and i hiked to wegelnburg ruins for sunrise. It was surprisingly crowded ans we got there 30 minutes early. I will probably avoid weekends in future and see if its less crowded. It took 30 min to get there from parking lot and then we followed the circuit of 4 castles and now its breakfast time
