Lonely hut with beer garden right on the water. Very close to the angled bridge, also worth seeing.

Broad Water

Highlight • Lake

The nature reserve "Wide Water" has the shape of a triangle and is also known as the "wet triangle" because of the many streams and lakes. The area is home to many birds that you can watch with a little patience. In the nature reserve there is also the lake of the same name, Broad Water.

Teufelsmoor near Worpswede

Highlight • Natural

Was a nice gravel road, then one side of the route would be "rehabilitated" with coarse and sharp splinters. All for the sake of cyclists.

Worpswede Windmill

Highlight • Monument

After the report of the office Osterholz from the year 1836 the windmill Worpswede was built in 1701 by Claus Segelken. For the operation of the mill he had to pay a Canon of 12 Reichstalern. As early as 1723, however, he sold the mill to 4 landlords because of economic difficulties, and in 1737 they commissioned the ministry to Meierrecht. From now on, it was meierrechtlich the Crown Prince Worpswede, the Countess Elenora of Eschwege attached. In 1838, the structure, probably a post-windmill, is so outdated that it is now bigger and more economical than Erdholländer. This mill was repeatedly overhauled several times, such as 1936, 1959 and most recently 1995. Until 1956, the mill had a codend that was removed to work now with a wind rose modern. The many general overhauls - often carried by donations - are striking in the history of the mill. The economic situation with a relatively small area of arable land in the surrounding area must not have yielded golden fruits for every miller.

Today, with a white painted hull and white / red wing, it is a landmark of the artist's village of Worpswede.
