Wooden Bridge Over the Lanker See

Highlight • Bridge

Right at the junction of Lake Kirchsee and Lake Lanker, through which the Schwentine River flows on its way from the Bungsberg to its mouth in the Kiel Fjord, there is a bridge and a small bay in front of it with sun loungers and benches for relaxing. From there, you have a view over Lake Kirchsee all the way to the town church.

The bridge leads to the other shore, where you can continue walking along Lake Kirchsee to the town church.

There are also hiking and cycling trails that continue to the Lanker See swimming pool or along the Schuster Acht.

It is also possible to climb the Wehrberg, which houses a memorial to those killed in World War I.

Holstein Moraine Landscape

Highlight • Natural

Quite steep chains of hills separate the individual streams and lakes from each other. The ascent to the 61 m high Mühlenberg is by no means easy. The paths here usually take the heights very directly.

The horse bathing area is directly north of Gut Wahlstorf and can be reached via a beautiful avenue of birch trees.

The Schwentine is one of the longest rivers in Schleswig-Holstein at 68 km[3]. It rises 1.7 km southwest of the highest point in the state, the Bungsberg, on a spring meadow northeast of the village of Bergfeld (Kasseedorf) and flows through the entire Holstein Switzerland with numerous large lakes. The river flows through the towns of Eutin, Bad Malente, Plön, Preetz, Schwentinental (Raisdorf and Klausdorf) and flows into the Kiel Fjord (Baltic Sea) in Kiel between the districts of Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf and Wellingdorf.

The nature reserve "Peninsulas and Bays in Lake Lanker" comprises 207 hectares of water surface, reed beds, extensive pastureland, quarries, birch and beech forests. Part of the area is extensively grazed by Galloway cattle in order to ensure the survival of the "fragrant primrose" Primula veris.

Beautiful, curved bridge over the railway line. It's just a shame that you have to carry your bike up and down here. Or you can easily take a long detour. Everyone the way he likes it

Thanks to the wind, there were few people out and about 🤩
Always wonderful views of and from the water, forest, meadows, ponds and Schwentine 👌🏻

Preetz is a small town in the Plön district and is also known as the "shoemaker town" due to the once important profession of shoemakers. A beautiful hiking and cycling route is therefore also called "Schuster8". Many paths lead along lakes and the Schwentine. It is worth starting and ending your excursions in Preetz in order to get to know …

Nice hike. However, the path around the riding stables should be taken. Unfortunately also followed by bad luck, as both stops in Wahlstorf for a coffee - due to a lack of staff and unclear at the other - had to be

Today I set off before breakfast and walked around Lake Lanker. You don't walk directly along the lake, but there are so many small lakes along the edge that it's like a lake landscape of its own 😊 I'd say it was once again 95% nature and very little road.
Highly recommended.

This year I hiked as many new routes as possible. There is still a whole pile of routes I haven't hiked yet in my to-do drawer. I still have one last day of vacation left for this year and the weather is going to be just great. So I went out and hiked another lap around Lake Lanker and ticked …

Today, in a summery 22 degrees Celsius, I went for a walk around the beautiful Lanker See☀️.

The route is very varied and is one of my favorites!

Best regards,
Ruben

All in all, a varied round, which even offers a nice bathing opportunity at the end. Since the route coincides for many kilometers with the "Schusteracht" (south loop), you will meet more and more cyclists. After all, there are at least three segments that cannot be taken by bike! : D (To name them: small steep shortcut Vogelsang / Mühlenberg, …

I had an appointment to run with a friend who mainly runs on asphalt, and I was supposed to choose a route "also through nature". On the spur of the moment, I chose this well-known tour: visually appealing and varied! In fact, she really enjoyed this tour too. yay! : D So you can enjoy the beautiful weather.
