North Shore of Jacobi Pond

Highlight • Lake

Nice little pond (aka small shallow lake), very pleasant on warm summer days.
Feeding the ducks (not my thing) included.

Jacobi Pond

Highlight • Lake

A figure-eight loop around the Jacobi Weiher is always a beautiful ride. The paths are wide enough to pass each other without problems – provided you are considerate of each other.

Here you will find a beautiful wooden bridge to cross the Jacobiweiher pond.

View of the Jacobiweiher

Highlight • Lake

You discover a really hidden highlight just before crossing the 1st bridge because there is a sign about an owl 🦉 with a knitted sweater and this owl 🦉 you discover when you look up the tree 🌳. Of course you can give the children the task of looking for a big owl in the trees shortly beforehand 🙃

May 27, 2026,Jacobiweiher – Jacobiweiher Runde von Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen
A beautiful path through the city forest with many shady forest trails, ideal for a relaxed round without great effort. The elevation profile is like in Holland – or, as Obelix would claim, like Switzerland – so completely flat and pleasant to walk. And all this with less wind than in real Holland.

Today I met @Manuela 📸 at Neu-Isenburg train station. From here we are on the Schäfersteinpfad, which leads through the Frankfurt city forest, along many old boundary stones. The path is marked with a Gothic F, but in a mirror image.
There is a western and an eastern route that we have connected. I then added the Königsbrünnchen and the …

Fuck it, it was so incredibly boring, bearable for older people, but definitely not for young people.

The Schäfersteinpfad leads along historical boundary stones through the Frankfurt city forest. The hiking trail is marked with small wooden signs that show an F, which is written upside down (as on the historical boundary stones).
I consider it one of the most beautiful hiking trails around Frankfurt. Above all, the Tyrolean pond with the green armadillos and the Jupiter …
