Lohrberg Spring

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Lohrberg spring is a source of the Mirbesbach, which flows from here along the main road down to Königswinter and into the Rhine.

Three-Lakes Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

... is called the Drei-Seen-Blick because you can see three sections of the Rhine peeking out between the mountains of the Siebengebirge, just like three lakes. In addition, you have a beautiful view of Drachenfels, Bonn, Bad Godesberg, Cologne, right up to Cologne Cathedral.

Löwenburger Hof

Highlight • Restaurant

Cozy restaurant below the Löwenburg. The stand with the high tables they've set up outside to sell coffee and cake to athletes is nice. You don't really want to go into a restaurant all sweaty, and this way you can get going again faster. Top!

Löwenburg Orchard Meadow

Highlight • Natural

Especially nice when the sheep are grazing in the meadow, the satisfied bleating of the wooly lawnmower fits wonderfully into this environment. Then (even better: always) keep dogs on a leash! Incidentally, the orchard is tended by the Rhine-Sieg Biological Station.

Ascent to Löwenburg

Highlight • Climb

There are two ways to get to the castle. There is a signpost just before the castle
- 700 meters, a very steep and strenuous path
-1700 meters, much longer but much easier than the 700 meter long route

Lion castle ruins

Highlight • Castle

If you do not come to the usual, "suspicious" times the castle ruins is a beautiful quiet place with a great view of the Rhine Valley but also in the hinterland of the Siebengebirge.

And right around the corner from the Drachenfels and with a view of it is the Löwenburg ruins. Us and a zillion others, but it is still very beautiful there and the view over the Rhine is really impressive!

From the Margarethenhöhe car park we first went to the Drei-Seen-Blick vantage point and then on to the Löwenburg, and finally a climb to the Ölberg.

My first little hiking tour this year.
Finally hiking again, even if only 6 km to the Löwenburg in the Siebengebirge.
Beautiful up and down tour with beautiful views of the area and Father Rhine.. ☀️😊

Inspired by the status pictures of a good friend, I set off for the Siebengebirge today. From the Lahrweg car park on Margarethenhöhe, we set off through a winter forest lightly dusted with snow. The weather was fantastic and transformed the landscape into a fairytale world. Unfortunately, it was very slippery and icy in places and even with good tread …

The starting point is inconvenient when arriving by car and for parking, it is better to use the parking spaces at Margarethenhöhe or at the corner of Löwenburger Straße / Lahrring.
